Software useless

Now I`m angry. The software and support do´nt meet my expectation. The software is useless for me. For several month I had contact to the support also posted the problems here. They promised to solve the problems. Insted of solving I got more and more bugs.

On September 11 I wrote to the support and got no answer:

Hello Skylum team,

a couple of month ago we had a long conversation about several bugs and I hoped for a solution. Now we have V 1.3.1 and the old bugs are not fixed and a lot of new bugs are added. I do'nt understand that you bring now a lot of extensions insted of fixing the old bugs. I'm angry about that management and will stop all activities to buy anything on the Skylum site.

Please remember all the users that gave you credit for NEO to get a new exciting software with KI. But NEO causes more and more trouble and I waste a lot of time. Since the half of my pictures are landscape photographs the software is useless for me and I have to look for an alternative program.

Here is the list with the bugs I found:

1. heavy banding in the sky (discussed several month ago)

2. export dialog with keep both files needs sometimes several attempts, in some cases nothing will be exported (also reported weeks ago)

3. sometimes the edits wo'nt applied during export

4. the number of edits is not shown, there is only a dot

5. sometimes the original cannot be restored

6. sometime the menus cannot be expanded (esp. erase tool), restart nessesary

7. sometimes the KI select squares

8. some crashes if NEO is in background

9. the percentage menu on bottom sometimes is grayed out (all menus closed)

10. sometimes there is a loss of the edits in develop module after KI masking

For now I'm waiting for the fixes. Maybe I will comeback. I wish also that your affiliates report more problems insted of singing a carol.

I expect a serious comment and timeline from Skylum when the bugs will be corrected. It makes no sence for me to buy any extensions if the base software fails.

Thanks for your reply. There was really no mail in my inbox. I checked also the spam folder. The mail yesterday and the copy from September 12 I recieved. Now let`s go to start again.

The most important problem is the banding mostly in the sky after export a landscape image to disk. I found no workarround to avoid this. The other bugs are irksome but I can live with this time. What I also found is a visible banding during AI selection that only occurs after export in the image not after ending of the selection in NEO. I will send you a screencast.

For all the other bugs I will contact the support.

Hi Kate,

first time we discussed the problem was May 31. I hope that it will be solved very soon. For the other problems I opened a dialog with the support again.
