Rotation resets flags inconsistently
AnsweredI have a Canon T6i DSLR with some unintended settings. One was that "Auto Rotate" was turned off and the other was the Black & White creative mode was turned on (different occasions). The files were in RAW format.
When I viewed a Portrait oriented picture in Lumina Neo, the photo was displayed landscape. I deserved that since Auto Rotate was off, but what is weird is if I rotate the image in Lumina, instead of rotating 90 degrees, it rotates 180 degrees. I have to then rotate it again once in the other direction to get it portrait orientation. If I Edit the this kind of image, it's displayed in the correct rotation and if I make any change, the image in future is correct in the Catalog view without having to explicitly rotate it. It seems to me that the Edit View and the Catalog View should be the same at the start. If one part of Lumina is to going to auto rotate regardless of camera settings, then all parts should. The unintended 180 degree rotation should not happen.
Similar issue with the B&W images. If I rotate them, they turn to color, and if I edit them in any way they turn to color. If I zoom in with the Catalog view, they also turn to color, but in that case revert to B&W when I zoom out.
[FWIW Lightroom requires only one rotation to get it right, and it automatically converts to color. The Catalog and edit views are always consistent.]
