Luminar 4 and issues with PS 2023 not accepting Luminar unless opened for intel based computers.

    Hi Philip,

Please note that Luminar 4 and Aurora HDR aren't compatible with the M1 chip and run via Rosetta 2: I'm afraid there are no plans to optimize them for this platform either.

Thus, if you'd like to use these applications as a Photoshop plugin, you may want to open Photoshop via Rosetta 2 (as an Intel-based app).

You may also consider checking out Luminar Neo - our latest app. It runs natively on the m1 chip:

I tried using Rosetta to open PSE 2023. It did not work. I contacted Adobe who explained:

The issue was that the program was installed with the build designed for Apple M1 and on Apple M1 build the plug-ins are not recognized at times. I installed the Intel build which should let us recognize such third party plug-ins

After uninstalling the former PSE 2023 and  installing the PSE 2023 Intel build out it worked perfectly. Kudos to Adobe who worked with me a long time to get this right.
