M2- running out of memory

Using Luminar Neo on a MacBook Air M2, 8Gb M. When it works, it's like a dream, but now editing stops quickly when the app runs out of memory. And when I downloaded the latest version, the app ran out of memory while unpacking! I have followed the instructions to delete with App Cleaner, etc. and successfully downloaded the new version. After a while, the app ran out of memory again. I can use Luminar if I edit one image at a time and sparingly with the AI functions.
