    Hi Mark Powell,

We are sorry to hear about the speed issues you experienced. Please, note that speed depends on several factors.

    • how many images are there in your catalog?
    • do you store them on internal or external drive?
    • what is average size of the photo you edit? Are most photos RAW or JPEG files?
    • how long does it usually take to apply edits? (how many seconds)
    • do you run any other apps while editing your photos?
    • how much free space do you have on your system drive?

    Hi Helga,

    In answer to your questions:

    • 300 images in the catalogue/album, some times 700 images
    • images in this case stored on internal 480 GB SSD,
    • 31 MB to 38 MB and 99% RAW images,
    • sometimes 10 - 20 seconds, more noticeable using masks.
    • Only run Luminar Neo,
    • SSD has 105 GB of space and HDD has 306 GB of space.

Upgrading is inevitable to gain CPU performance, but was hoping discover what others experienced and what CPU they used.

    Thanks for your reply.

Increasing the Page File size can help make Luminar faster, here's how it can be done:

If you have two graphics cards, please make sure to set a discrete one to run Luminar by default (this usually concerns laptops).

If you are ready to upgrade your computer, we'd recommend paying attention to RAM.
As a rule of thumb, the more RAM there is, the faster Luminar will run.

    Thanks Helga,

Increasing the page file size was like putting my computer on steroids, although as the file size grew with editing minor lag became noticeable.  Export was so much faster with single edit.
