Luminar Neo
AnsweredDownloaded Neo about a week ago and I have to confess to being a little unhappy with what I have so far!
I Like the “Tools and Edits” function
I Like power lines and Dust tools
I dont understand why the Catalog has been moved to the Left hand side, just a small irritant to those used to working on Luminar Ai and Luminar4
The app is slow, to load, and to render in fact it is so slow it is unusable (up to 60sec) once the image is on the screen
Where are the “Layers” that are promised
The sun does not align with the Icon dot
I have not been able to connect my iPad on the same network
Im sure there are still many things to come but I would like to see
Metadata and an “Notes” section where I could make notes relating to the image, eg location circumstances weather etc
A data base so I didn’t have to use ACDsee, In common with many other comments in this community
Questions,
will I be able to add and use my own skies and textures?
is there going to be a manual straighten, the current option in Neo is not always correct
is the portrait section to be expanded to similar to Ai
Powerlines tool needs a bit more work, but it is pretty good
I would like manual override on Ai features
Would like the “Lasoo” returned to the Erase tool
But best of all would be if you use this App as the base to continual updates and improve this app over a long period rather than bring out a new and not necessarly better ap in 1 or 2 years simply in the name of Ai!
So unless there is much improvement is Neo I will not be using it
I run all my images from an external hard drive using a USB3 connection and have no problem with Luminar Ai or Luminar4

Hi Rob,
Please kindly note that the Early Access version of Luminar Neo that is available now does not yet have full functionality. Many tools that will be present in the app after the official release are simply not available yet (like layers or presets). Moreover, the work of all AI algorithms as well as the overall performance will be improved by the time of the official release.
You can check out this article to learn more about the Early Access version:

As for the skies, you can use your own skies in Luminar Neo the same way you were able to use them in Luminarᴬᴵ. In Skyᴬᴵ tool go to Choose Sky > Custom.
As for connecting the app to Luminar Share, please see the following steps that may help.
If you have any connection issues with Luminar Share, make sure that you use the same network for both Desktop and Mobile and they can communicate with each other.
