Time for focus RAW photos with MacBook Air M1

Is it normal for a RAW file to take 2-4 seconds to display in focus and in the correct aspect ratio? I have a Macbook with M1 and 16Gb Ram. Actually, the normal display should work smoothly so that you can look through and sort out properly, right?

  Hi Paul - Please note that Luminar does not upload your photos directly to the app, it simply creates the link to them on your drive. Thus, it may take some time to render the images, especially if they are located on the external drive.

  Okay but i have them on the internal storage. Same Workflow as lightroom Bit more time needed for rendering. Thats boring 😑

   

  my MacBook writes with 2100mb/s and read with 2600mb/s

   

  this should be enough for Rendering a raw faster

  Hi Paul,

  to answer your question, yes unfortunately this is normal. Every time you zoom in and move the image a little bit it needs a few second.

  I you save an image as a tiff file it is much faster than a raw file in Luminar. Maybe you can try it. But I no, it is not really helpful. but that's what I noticed.
