Aurora HDR cannot open Canon .CR3-Files

Hi,

today I preordered Luminar Neo and bought Aurora HDR. But I´m very disappointed, because Aurora cannot open my RAW-Files (Canon eos m200). No cRAW und now cr3 (Program is crashing every try). I use a Mac. Jpegs works fine.... What could be the problem? Thank you.

Hi, the likely problem is that your camera is not supported:

If that's the case, you either stick to processing jpegs - which is far from ideal in HDR photography, or you install the free DNG converter and save your RAW files as DNGs before you load them in Aurora:

thanks Marco, but why was the software not updated? The camera and the Canon RAW format are several years old (!)... And, as you also say, processing jpegs in hdr is far from ideal... use a converter is also not a good way...

100% agree: it's a workaround rather than a solution; and yet here we are...

In my opinion, back when it was launched by Macphun, Aurora was a winner with little to no competition. Skylum has really shot themselves in the foot by neglecting to keeping it up to date after 2019 was released.
