    Hi Rob,

I definitely understand how important it is to recover these edits for you.

It would be super helpful if you could share a screen recording (of you reopening the Smart Object in Luminar) + the original image + the Photoshop (.psd) file with our support team at https://skylum.com/support
You can use Monosnap to record your screen: https://monosnap.com/welcome

Here's how you can send us the files:

    1. Visit https://wetransfer.com/
    2. If it's your first time visiting this website, it might ask you to purchase a subscription. Simply select to proceed with the free version.
    3. Click Add your files.
    4. Select the file(s) on your computer.
    5. After you see all the files you need to send appear in the list, click the icon to the left of the Transfer button (the icon looks like a circle with three dots in it).
    6. In Send As select Link.
    7. Click Transfer.
    8. After the files have finished uploading, click Copy Link and paste it into your support request at https://skylum.com/support

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Kate-thanks for reply.  I'm communicating with Anastasiia thru the support portal.  I've sent her  screenshots and uploaded some example files thru the provided Dropbox portal.  So that I don't duplicate efforts, I'll put any further response on hold in this forum.  I will report back on this thread after I get more info or resolution.  Thanks.

Still no solution to the problem.  A similar issue posted recently on this forum:

    https://community.skylum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4404263192850-Luminar-AI-and-Photoshop-freeze-when-trying-to-open-PSD-file-for-further-editing?page=1#community_comment_4410195273874

Luminar 4 had a similar problem that I and others reported—required a bug fix and then everything worked fine—until Luminar AI took 2 steps back.

Please Skylum—do a deep dive on this technical issue that I am now certain is a bug. I’m guessing the new product will suffer the exact same issue.

This problem persists. Another user has recently posted this exact issue:

    https://community.skylum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4411830308242-i-can-t-reopen-luminar-ai-smart-filter-in-photoshop?page=1#community_comment_4413266039058

Evidently these issues are looked at in a vacuum and tech is unaware that the problem can’t be fixed on the user end. There is a bug that so far has not been identified or fixed. As I also told tech support, this issue was also discovered in Luminar 4. I suspect the new Luminar product NEO will also be similarly flawed as no one is tracking or fixing this issue.
