"Pam" is "not particularly looking for a DAM", but Dima Sytnik leaves this comment unanswered and his silence is deafening. Clearly he no longer sees any reason to deliver a DAM for her, nor for the thousands of other users to whom he promised this feature as the cornerstone of the "complete Lightroom replacement" and who invested in L3 and committed their future post-production workflow on that basis.
But Pam "can probably handle (that) in Lightroom"! Who needs a roadmap when you've got Pam?
So, to the same users who were promised a migration path from Lightroom, there will be nothing to migrate to. This much-vaunted migration feature, now said to be in the hands of "partners", will no doubt also disappear quietly behind the facade of AI.
Does this all stem from technical incompetence, business naivety, cavalier or even wilful misrepresentation, misfeasance, or some combination of these factors? Irrespective of the reasons, Skylum's arrogance is breathtaking. Some candour would be welcome but I'm not holding my breath.
