Download the trial and test it out before you buy.

    Hi Sandra,

I second Geoffrey's suggestion to download the trial and see how it performs on your machine. Be sure to check the tech requirements here: to make sure your computer meets the minimum specs.

Definitely go for the trial but be aware:

    1) When I used the trial version, it was advertised as a 30-day trial. In reality it was 7 days.

    2) 8GB of RAM is really the bare minimum. I have a Dell XPS15 with originally 8GB RAM. While it is able to run Luminar, expect a lot of waiting time while opening/editing/exporting photos. I've now upgraded to 32GB RAM and while Luminar is quicker, it is still noticeably slower than Lightroom on the same machine.

There is just something not quite right with Luminar and RAM usage imo. Even with the latest release, my RAM usage just seems to go up and up over time while using Luminar until finally Luminar crashes and needs to restart. Smells badly like a memory leak issue that somehow doesn't get addressed properly.

Please note that the trial period has been changed and it's been 7 days for quite a while already. Nevertheless, we're always ready to extend the trial version. If needed, please, get in touch with us at and provide us with the following information:

    If you're on Mac:

    1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.
    2. Click About This Mac.
    3. In the window that opens, click System Report.
    4. In the window that opens, make sure Hardware is selected in the column on the left.
    5. Locate the Hardware UUID string, copy it, and paste it into your reply to this email.

    If you're on Windows:

    1. Download this application:
    2. Launch it.
    3. Copy HID1 and HID2 codes from the application's window and send them to us.

As for the memory leak during the consecutive editing of photos: that's a known issue, the fix will be in 3.2.0. The version 3.1.3 has fixed the memory leak during the export of multiple photos.

You should read the forums (either here or any other post processing forum) before wasting your money.
