Hi Skylum team,
I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq7Cfj3cdR0 about Luminar 4. In one of the comments (from DSLR VIDEO TIPPS) it is mentioned that Luminar 3 will only have support until end of 2019. It is in german but he/she said that he/she reached out Skylum support and got this answer.
Is this true? When I look through the forum topics it would be nice to have some concrete statements about Luminar 4
- Release Date
- Upgrade Plan
- Grace Period
and for Luminar 3:
- A real Roadmap -> meaning a plan with dates when which feature will be released/implemented
- Support -> How long will Luminar 3 be supported? Concrete date. For example support for Windows 7 ends 126.96.36.1990...something like this for Luminar
- Updates/Patches: provide them as offline installer as well. Pretty sure softlaunch will not be affected that much because most people will use the builtin updater
- Update/Patch Roadmap
Currently there are lots of threads/topics which can be easily solved by providing a better communication. For example patches: There were some posts that there will be a new patch. But no "official" statement when the patch will be available or what the patch actually patches. Or plugin support for Windows users: First statement was "it will be added in the next update" then it was "we will add it later" and now it is "???"
Don´t get me wrong, I really like Luminar 3 and Luminar Flex. But communication on Skylum site is...well not that good.
Btw. when you look at the comments (in german) from the video above you will notice that they are exactly the same we have here: people complaining about missing communication (points from above) and low performance with Luminar 3. They are also complaining that there are no news about Luminar 4; except the sky replacement. They are already thinking that Luminar 4 is some kind of fraud (20K x 50$ = 1 Mio) to get money for running costs. Usually CxO kick in at this point and make some announcements...it is to quite for a good running/selling product...
Just my 2 cents
