My Take
What I have learned from all of the discussion is that Luminar is not yet ready to be a DAM. Personally, that's ok. I never intended to use it as a DAM. Both Luminar 3.1 and Flex work great as a plug-in. The only real personal concern that I have is how long it takes to get the new editing features in Luminar into Flex. (Flex 1.1 is terrific!) If a time comes that Skylum makes major editing updates to Luminar, but stops allowing it to be used as a plug-in, and at the same time does not put those editing features into Flex, I will be very unhappy.

Hi Jack,
Please note that Luminar Flex was released as a separate product, that is why, from the outset, it had its own development plan. Luminar 3 and Luminar Flex were never meant to be developed in parallel.
With an idea to bring a universal solution that will satisfy all customers' needs, we've created Luminar 4, which is a brand-new app with revolutionary AI features. It is considered as an upgrade for both Luminar 3 and Luminar Flex and it will incorporate the best features of both. You'll be able to use it both as a standalone and a plugin or extension.
