    Hi Markus,

    Please, try the following steps:

    1. Install the latest Windows updates. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button in the lower left corner. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click either WindowsUpdate or Check for updates. Click the Check for updates button and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer. This way, we will make sure you DirectX components are up to date.

    2. Update your graphics card drivers.

    Update Intel Graphics Drivers:

    • Download Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable here (click this text to open link). Download should begin automatically as soon as you click the link.
    • Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type in Add or remove programs. Windows will suggest the matching app, open it.
    • In the list of installed applications locate all entries that have Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable in the title and uninstall them one by one.
    • In the list of installed applications locate all entries that have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable in the title and uninstall them one by one.

    Hi Markus,

Could you please also specify if you have antivirus software installed?

Please try to disable your antivirus/Windows defender/Firewalls and let us know how it goes.

    Hello Kate, Hello Anna

First I did all the updates mentioned by Kate. Did not help.
(Then deinstalled Intel Driver Support Assistant + Intel Computing Improvement Program again because they added a 15 seconds delay at Windows startup.)

Then tried the suggestions of Anna, but turning off Defender and Firewall did not help.
(I have no additional AntiVirus on my system.)

But I have found that it only happens exactly when entering the edit mode of RAW images (NEF, ORF, DNG), not when entering the edit mode of JPG images.

    Regards. Markus
