GeoSetter - time to act is NOW.
Friedemann Schmidt's Geosetter 4.0 version was supposed to have been released in second half of 2017. This did happen. There's no update on his blog. The Google maps API is dysfunctional.
Geosetter is a unique app, astonishingly well thought and implemented by Friedemann. It would be remiss of the wider geo-tagging community to let this app wither away. Also, there's so much more potential in this app, way more beyond what is contained thus far!
My suggestion is that Skylum buy up all the rights to this app from Friedemann.
Geosetter, as is would require no great feat of coding to port it over and into Luminar. Once integrated and a new world of possibilities (plural) will be revealed.
Nikon ViewNX-i has an excellent map feature, as does Lr.
Nikon and DxO will be working on version 2 of ViewNX-i/ Capture NX-D (both free.) Undoubtedly, there will be a Capture NX3, this may also include a map module. All Nikon apps will have access to Nikon's Imagespace free cloud storage / presentation space. I'd suggest there's much to think about there, for Skylum's leadership, not least Nikon's planning time-frame.
My final thought on this… snooze (Skylum leadership) and you'll loose. This suggestion is mission critical. A strategic acquisition. Review this suggestion at the highest level in Skylum, (perhaps discuss at the appropriate level with Fujifilm,) then act… as quickly as the legal work will take.

As a strong fanboy of geosetter i support Cliffs suggestion!
Geosetter does merge GPS tracks with timestamps in to pictures which map to a appropriate timestamp. For best results the recorded timestamp of a photo can be corrected. So one can have a location deviation below 10 m/30 ft.
Additional it collects location information from a server and ad them to the exif. This is needed for location base selection of pictures in the luminar library.
