Hi Kirk! Unfortunately, this functionality is not available in Luminar yet, but our developers are working on it so we will include the ability to remove subfolders from your Luminar catalog in our future releases. Right now, you can only delete subfolders in Luminar or move them in your Finder.

Any idea on timing to get this functionality added, Terry?

    Hi Kirk,

I am sorry we don't have a timeline for this feature right now.

Keep an eye on our roadmap here: https://skylum.com/luminar/roadmap

We will keep you posted once there's any update on that.

I too would _really_ like to have the option to "exclude folder" from a catalog.

In order to help your (Skylum's) team understand the use-case here is why:

Basically I have been using for years a hierarchical folder model like this:

    • 2019
    •   2019-04-14 - weekend at the lake
    •     JPG export
    •     FB export
    •   2019-05-12 - Macros and flowers
    •     JPG export
    •     Instagram export
    •   etc.. etc..

The above organization allows me to keep an "edited" copy of the image ("JPG export" subfolders) and leaves the overall main structure pretty clean. with Lightroom this works pretty well since I don't import the subfolders (which, actually, are empty when first importing).
With Luminar I'd like to be able to exclude these folders from the catalog library, otherwise each picture will show 2-3 times and becomes really annoying to use!

Another option would be for the main library to have a switch/option to show only the pict in the "current" folder and NOT all the recursive folders.
Hope this helps: I'll stay tuned for updates!

    @Simone Avogadro

Thank you. That's a great suggestion!

I've forwarded it to our technical department for their consideration.

Hopefully, we'll do so in the future updates.
