tried aurora for several days, keeps crashing on win10.
crashes when generating HDR preview, or if the HDR worked, it crashed when saving/exporting.
a pitty :-( beacause it looked promising

    Hi Moortgat,

I'm very sorry to hear that! Please contact us at www.skylum.com/support and we'll investigate the issue. If your trial has already ended we can reset it for you so you have ample time to test.

@Angela, with the greatest respect, I'm slowly losing any hope to own a copy of Aurora HDR that does not crash.

Please correct me if I am wrong but problems related to crashes have been reported at least 6 months ago. Nothing has been done to fix the bug(s) that make Aurora crash when it opens native files containing crop and/or rotation. By now, technical support should have an encyclopaedia of cases.

I hope to see a fix in the near future but if I'm not holding my breath.

We suspect that the issue has something to do with the Windows update.

In order for us to verify this, could you please send us event logs:

    1. Try to start Aurora HDR 2019.
    2. Press the Windows logo key + R.
    3. Type eventvwr in the dialog box that opens and hit Enter on your keyboard.
    4. In the window that opens click the triangle next to Windows Logs on the left. A directory tree should open.
    5. Click Application in the directory tree.
    6. In the main part of the window find the two topmost entries marked with Error named Application Error and .NET Runtime.
    7. Hold CTRL and click your left mouse button on each entry to select them both.
    8. Right-click on any of the two selected entries  and click Save Selected Events.
    9. Name the file, save it, and send it to us at support@skylum.com.

it has been a month and no news about the update of Aurora 2019? What the point to ask for feedback? No time, deadline mentioned?

    Chrislab100 .

    Hello

It seems that Aurora 2019 for Windows has not some (minor fonctions) items .... which are avaible for Mac

I realise that when looking at Serge Ramelli video Tutoriel

Exemple : When you search for Black/white point if you press on Alt you have the display of a white window  showing the black/white areas ....... That is not avaible for Windows ...... and for a few others minor items it is the same

Even if theese differences are minor  ,  it is not pleasant for Windows users

    Thank you for your attention

    Hello

Same subjet : Aurora 2019 on Window 10 and some missing fonctions compare to Mac

Also I notice ( through a tuto of Abba Shapiro ....I suppose he is on Mac)) that for "adjustable gradient" the fonction "start orientation" is not avaible in the easy way ...... I mean 3 lignes appearing on the image ... very easy to manage (like in LR)

I have "orientation" and  under 3 options :

Fusionner / Horizontalshift / Rotation  ......Of course it comes to the same but in a very difficult and inconfortable way

Really  it's very unpleasant to see video tutoriel (made on mac)  and realise that because on Windows some fonctions are not avaible

I hope Skylum will correct that unfair situation

If you haven't figured it out, the next update is Aurora 2020.

2019 version was October 2018.   There were no updates that I saw.

Assuming 2020 version is in October, that's only a little over a month away.

They are very good at blowing the customer off.

Decent product but with no support, it's pretty much dead.   Shame.

Hi Jim! Please note that we are not planning any paid upgrades for Aurora HDR at the moment.
I am afraid there is no info on the next update either. Please, stay tuned.

I would like to be able to choose my DPI... it makes my images 240... I cannot see any options that allow me to keep my 300...

    Hi Jason,

You can change DPI when exporting the image as a TIFF (via File > Export).

    Hi Roy,

Implementing the support of CR3 file format is already on our list of requested features. However, unfortunately, there's no exact ETA at this time. Please stay tuned and check for updates.

Need support for CR3 files.  They have been around for over 2 years now.  Aurora HRD it needs to be able to support them.  Yet another Skylum product that I will not purchase again until they actually make some moves forward.

I have downloaded the trial version of Aurora HDR 2019 and I am extensively testing it.

While I am finding it to be the best HDR software available by far, I have a couple of issues:

    1. When initially importing images, there are a number of options available, such as Auto Alignment, Ghosting Reduction, etc., as in most other HDR software. But i cannot compare the results of different choices; in fact, I do not even have any possibility to know ex post which my choices had been, because there is no trace of them in the user interface. This means I have to take note of them and process the image set several times to make any comparison, saving a separate.auh file file each time.

This is rather curious, because it seems that when I open a saved .auh file, Aurora performs again the initial merging process, at least based on the info boxes displayed on screen.

    2. In the Windows version, when saving the project (.auh file) it is not possible to chose if history and - more importantly - if original resources must be saved or not. This means that in Windows .auh files may be unnecessarily large.

Apart from these annoying flaws, the results provided by Aurora are far better in comparison with any other HDR software I have tested so far, including Nik HDR Efex, Photomatix, Easy HDR, and of course PhotoShop.

By the way, Skylum's customer care people are fast, kind and professional.

    Thanks for your attention.

    Hi Andrea,

Thanks for your warm feedback. Indeed, there is no history functionality available in Aurora HDR at the moment. However, this is rather a useful suggestion that I'll forward to our team so that they could have a note of it for future. Thanks for your ideas on how to make Aurora HDR better!

    Hi Victoria,

A colleague of yours sent me a screenshot where both "history" and "original resources" options were available in the Mac version (which I do not have access to). I believe it is some sort of misalignment between the two OS versions.

I would be actually mostly interested in the possibility of not saving the "original resources" (which I assume are the original image files to be merged). As I keep original files as well, it is a duplication which takes up a lot of disk space, both locally and (in particular) on the cloud service I use as a backup.

    Thanks,

    Andrea
