When importing a new folder structure as a Library in Luminar 3, Luminar will generate thumbnail previews of images as they are being browsed. It would be nice if Luminar would have an option to start a background task to automatically generate the previews.
Due to the lack of this feature, I did the following, which was very time consuming:
1. Increase the size of the cache to the max in the Preferences
2. Manually browse through every single image in my library, just slow enough so Luminar would generate the thumbnail preview of every image.
As a result of this manual filling of the thumbnail cache, browsing in Luminar is now lightning fast. I'm really impressed with the resulting browsing speed. I only wish I didn't have to do this "cache preload" manually... It took me more than 2 hours to browse through all my pictures to get all thumbnails generated, and my library is not that big (around 20 000 pictures).
