Hi all. I just got Luminar 18.104.22.1686 so bear with me. I couldn't find a clear explanation for the term "Catalog". I have a lot of RAW and JPG pics and before I start to "Create a new catalog", I'd like to know the best way to use this.
Do I create a catalog of each major topic (landscapes, or animals, or models, etc) or do I create a catalog of each job shoot, or do I just use the top-most level and catalog my entire drive? I'm clueless about what a "catalog" will do for organizing my pics.
Also, what exactly is a catalog doing? Is it making a complete copy of every file? Is it just creating thumbnails and leaving the originals in place? What happens when I move, add, delete an original? What happens when I move, add, delete a file in the catalog; ie, does it move, add, delete my original?
These are important questions that I can't find answered within the app or the Help guide. I'd like to understand it before I start my catalogs.
Thank you all very much for your advice.
