Update 3.0.2 trashed all my edits

Not happy. It was all good until I created a new folder. Now all my edits are gone. RAW files are OK. Contacted Skylum support. Suggest some caution until they find out what it is.

Well I waited all night at 0% thinking it may come good. Unfortunately nothing, so I trashed the library files and reimported all my photos ( 16300 odd ) . I think like many here we all saw what looked like a great alternative to Lightroom after they went down the subscription model. I held out great hopes for this program but I must admit I find myself drifting back to Lightroom as it’s still way faster and lets face it , it just works. I’ll give this a couple more updates to get its Sh*t together otherwise it’s to the trash can. I was going to lash out on Aurora to give it a go but have resisted for now.

I wonder how long it will be before someone takes Skylum to task officially? The problem is it goes from bad to worse. Perhaps our caring CEO would care to explain and offer some form of compensation to those who are suffering? After all he keeps saying, along with other condescending rubbish, that Skylum cares and that we are a constant source of inspiration.

So far they have apologised for the inconvenience and got me to uninstall (leaving one folder which I imagine is related to the histories) and reinstall it. It works but the edits are still gone. I think it was a standard e-mail for crashes. Doubt they actually read what I sent.

@Richard, I thought they might try that - they don't care about the library content, for them it seems library information are disposable...

Problems here too. Updated then when i launched the program a black screen appeared with the caption at the top saying "Updating Image Gallery 0% ". And thats where it has stayed. Can't do a thing.

Luminar 3.0.2 gives me the same error as Stuart Blight. (Updating Image Gallery 0%) and hangs up from there.

Keep us informed as to how the Skylum support tackles your lost library. They normally don't care and even recommend deleting your library database left, right and center whenever there are problems starting or running Luminar 3...

Latest attempt is to hold down the option key when I start Luminar which gives access to the backups. Unfortunately there are only a few there and none recover my edits.

If you'd like to revert to 3.0.1 here are instructions:

Download AppCleaner from here:

http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner

AppCleaner is a free app that automatically removes not only the applications themselves but also the related files, making 'clean' uninstall easy.

When removing Luminar 3, mark all the files and folders in the list, except for DPA6233TPQ.com.macphun.luminar3.

Once you're done uninstalling the app, restart your Mac and download a fresh version from here:
