Stil no support for OpenEXR and Radiance format and other shortcomings
Hi there, i bought Aurora 2018 in june last year in addition to Photomatix. Aurora looks modern and pretty nice, the results are really good too. I bought it to give it a chance, as a companion for my primary HDR software Photomatix.
Half year later i am disenchanted. Aurora, if it runs, really is a good tool, but it wasn't and stil not is not suitable for professional use on Windows!
Until today there is still no support of .hdr or .exr formats, they can neither be imported nor exported.
For me as professional Panorama-Photographer visible problems at the seams on the sides of the picture are intolerable. And it can not be true that no pictures with more than 15000 pixels can be exported!
All in all, Aurora looks nice and shiny, but its def. not suitable for professional panoramic photographers with high demands (HDR file formats, image sizes, flexible batch editor, ..). Although not quite as pretty, there is still no way past Photomatix.
Skylum should inform its users that Aurora HDR is only partially suitable for users with larger image files and almost not for panoramic photographers!
I keep Aurora on screen, but will not buy an upgrade until the program comes of age.
