    Hi Nikolai,

We'll add sending bracket groups to Aurora in the next update for Luminar 3. We planned to include this function in the initial release but there are some integration details that we need to iron out before shipping the function.

This behavior hasn't changed with the latest update to Luminar 3...

I added the Luminar 3 plugin from Photoshop into Aurora on my Mac and am able to send a merged image to Luminar 3 which then comes back as a layer in Aurora. No real difference from the operation in Luminar 2018.

    Hi Scott,

What released at the end of December was a hot fix to address critical issues. The next update will be at the end of January/early February.

On Mac Air Laptop, taking image from Aurora HDR 2019 to Luminar 3 continues to direct me to Skylum website to buy versus Luminar activated license software. Both loaded and activated with purchased license keys

    Hi Doug,

Currently the plugin in Aurora HDR 2019 is looking for Luminar 2018 - I believe this will be fixed in the next update.

Here is a workaround until the next Aurora update is released:

    1. Open Finder, click Go > Go to Folder and paste the following path: /Library/Application Support/MacPhun Software/Luminar3/Plug-Ins. There will be a bunch of files in there, the one you're interested in has .plugin extension.
    2. Copy the .plugin file somewhere where you can easily find it.
    3. In Aurora, click Plugins > Other > Open Plugin > point Aurora to the .plugin file you just copied. Luminar should open.

Angela,, when I click on plugin in Aurora HDR 2019 it only shows Luminar and photolemur 3. There is not "Other" shown. So at this point I can't seem to get Luminar 3 as a plugin.

    Thanks

    Hi Flip,

Thanks for your reply. Can you confirm which version of Aurora HDR you're running?

    Angela,

I tried the workaround that you suggested above, but I do not have a Plug-ins folder. I am running Mac 10.14.3, Luminar 3 3.0.2 and Aurora 19 HDR version 1.0.0. Do you know when this will be fixed. From Aurora Open in Luminar opens a browser as well.

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

The next update (which is in the works, but I don't have an ETA) for Aurora will fix the connection with Luminar 3.

In the meantime, I suggest reinstalling Luminar 3 and then following the instructions above to access the plugins folder. (A reinstall of the software will not affect your catalog).

    Here are instructions for reinstalling:

    Download AppCleaner from here:

    http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner

AppCleaner is a free app that automatically removes not only the applications themselves but also the related files, making 'clean' uninstall easy.

When removing Luminar 3, mark all the files and folders in the list, except for DPA6233TPQ.com.macphun.luminar3.

Once you're done uninstalling the app, restart your Mac and download a fresh version from here:

    https://luminar3.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/mac/Luminar3Installer.zip

If you need help with the installation, check out this page:

    https://support.apple.com/kb/ph25083?locale=en_US

Once the reinstall is complete you should be able to access the plugins folder as described in my previous post. If you encounter any issues please let me know.

I, too, didn't have the Plug-Ins folder. I was able to get it to show up by opening Luminar 3 and selecting from the menubar:

    Luminar 3 -> Install Plugins...

I was then able to click "Install" next to the Adobe Photoshop item in the dialog that opened. This created /Library/Application Support/MacPhun Software/Luminar3/Plug-Ins/ and put plugins in it, including Luminar3Plugin.plugin. Following the instructions above to copy and install this plugin worked.

However, note that this allows you to open Luminar 3 as a plugin from within Aurora HDR. This does not let you round-trip from Luminar to Aurora and back to Luminar, which is what I was hoping to do.

So next I tried Edit -> Plugins -> Aurora HDR with three bracketed images selected. However, this only opens the plugin mode of Aurora HDR with one of the images selected.

It seems the only way to round-trip from Luminar 3 to Aurora HDR 2019 and back is to select the bracketed images, select File -> Open In -> Aurora HDR, work your magic in Aurora HDR, and then export to the file system structure that Luminar 3 is watching as part of your library.

    Still hoping for:

    1. Select bracketed images in Luminar 3
    2. Right click -> Open In -> Aurora HDR (this works)
    3. After creating merged image, from Aurora HDR Open In -> Luminar
    4. Have the image now back in Luminar

Currently it still opens the website for Luminar 2018.

This round-tripping seems like it would be a good selling point for encouraging people to buy both Aurora HDR and Luminar 3. Can we please get a hotfix to Aurora HDR with a new menu item that opens Luminar 3?

Hi David! We are working on it. Nevertheless, there is no ETA for Aurora HDR update yet.
