Hi Graham - Presets are the same for Mac and Windows platforms.

They come in two flavors: preset packs and individual preset files. Preset packs contain multiple presets, and individual preset files are just that, single presets. If a preset pack comes in a .zip folder you'll need to extract it before installing.

Preset packs for Aurora HDR 2018 have .maupack extension. To install a preset pack in Aurora HDR 2018:

    1. Launch Aurora.
    2. Click File > Add Custom Presets Pack.
    3. Point Aurora to the preset pack file.
    4. Aurora should tell you that it has successfully installed the pack.

In Aurora HDR 2019 presets have been replaced with looks. Look packs for Aurora HDR 2019 have .salpk extension. To install a look pack in Aurora HDR 2019:

    1. Launch Aurora.
    2. Click File > Import Aurora HDR Looks Pack.
    3. Point Aurora to the looks pack file.
    4. Aurora should tell you that it has successfully installed the pack.

Individual preset files for Aurora HDR 2018 have .maup extension. To add a single preset in Aurora HDR 2018:

    1. Launch Aurora.
    2. Click File > Show Presets Folder.
    3. Copy .maup file into the folder that you've opened in Step 2.
    4. Restart Aurora.

Individual look files for Aurora HDR 2019 have .sal extension. To add a single preset in Aurora HDR 2019:

    1. Launch Aurora.
    2. Click File > Show Aurora HDR Looks Folder.
    3. Copy .sal file into the folder that you've opened in Step 2.
    4. Restart Aurora.

    Hello,

I would really appreciate a clarification about the difference between Presets (MAUP), and Looks (Sal files) and why do we need both.

    Thanks,

    Eric

Will Maup files work in Aurora 2019?  I have a lot of them from Aurora 2018?

.maup file is an individual preset file in Aurora '18.

.sal file is an individual look file in Aurora '19.

In A19 it's looks, in A18 it's presets. Looks and presets are similar. You can use .maup files in A19. To import them into A19:

    1. start A19
    2. click File > Import Aurora HDR Looks
    3. point A19 to the .maup files of your choice
    4. .maup files will appear in Aurora HDR User Looks
