When importing a new photo from SD card with the same name as one already in the library. The one in the library is permanently deleted, without any warning, message or notice from the new imported one ... I lost many photos before I realized it !!!

    Hi Gianni,

I've tried relocating the file to another folder where there's an image with the same name and extension and received the following pop-up: http://prntscr.com/13l2j7t

As you can see, the app gives a warning and doesn't replace files automatically.

The import worked fine as well.

It seems that we'll need more details for this scenario since the issue wasn't reproduced on our end.

It would be super helpful if you could contact us at https://skylum.com/support and provide a screen recording of the issue as well as a couple of files with the same names that you're working with.  Also, please make sure to specify your macOS version.

Here's how to record a screen on Mac:

    https://support.apple.com/guide/quicktime-player/record-your-screen-qtp97b08e666/mac

Here's how you can send us the files:

    1. Visit https://wetransfer.com/
    2. If it's your first time visiting this website, it might ask you to purchase a subscription. Simply select to proceed with the free version.
    3. Click Add your files.
    4. Select the file(s) on your computer.
    5. After you see all the files you need to send appear in the list, click the icon to the left of the Transfer button (the icon looks like a circle with three dots in it).
    6. In Send As select Link.
    7. Click Transfer.
    8. After the files have finished uploading, click Copy Link and paste it into your support request at https://skylum.com/support

If you find it more convenient, please feel free to contact our support team in Italian.

Hope to hear from you soon.

This is the video, in the video you can see that the photos with the same name, taken with two different cameras, are overwritten, without any warning or message !!!

    Hi,

Thanks for the video. I've passed it on to our specialists for review.

May I kindly ask you to include the image files as well?

    Hi Gianni,

    Thanks a lot!

Our specialists have checked the case. Indeed, if during import one chooses the 'move' option and the same folder as a destination, the files will be replaced.  If one chooses to 'copy' the files, the files with the same name won't be copied. In both cases, there's no warning.

Our techs have created a task to fix this issue and will address it in the following updates. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced.
