Picture-perfect horizons with the improved SkyAI tool
With new enhancements to our algorithms, SkyAI now produces even more photorealistic results with greater control and accuracy.
Better Sky Detection — Once a new sky is selected, SkyAI now uses improved horizon detection to more accurately place it in the scene. Refined edge detection and masking are used to better integrate the new sky for a more organic effect.
Better Reflections — The improved sky position is then used to create more realistic reflections in water. Haze, Warmth, Brightness and Water Blur sliders give users more precise control over reflections.
Better Relighting — Improvements in color accuracy create a more natural effect when the new sky is used to automatically relight the entire scene, including reflections. Three relighting controls allow users to dial in the lighting to fit their creative vision.
New support for Apple hardware and image formats
As Apple continues to push the hardware envelope, Skylum matches them.
Apple M1 Support — LuminarAI now runs on Apple’s next generation M1 machines. With the native M1 support in Update 3, macOS users can take full advantage of the faster processing of Apple’s M1 chips.
HEIC Support — Update 3 also adds support for HEIC image format, so Windows users can now open and edit photos taken on iPhones and other iOS devices.

Augmented SkyAI — Now, sky objects you add to the custom folder are instantly available for preview. Speaking of previews, you can now select any sky object in the visual browser to instantly preview it in your scene. To help you explore this new feature, we’ve provided three Augmented Sky Objects — free of charge — in the marketplace.
Dodge & Burn Tool — Easily paint highlights and shadows into your photo to enhance the mood. With the new Softness slider, subtly refine the edges of the area for a more natural effect.
Erase Tool & Clone Tool — Both tools offer non-destructive editing to easily remove unwanted objects or blemishes. Thanks to the Undo and Redo commands there is no need to start over if you make a mistake or change your mind. Just undo the brushstroke and make fine detail adjustments
Convenient Template Browsing — Enjoy your collection of purchased Templates in a new way. Templates in the Purchased tab are now neatly organized in a grid so you can more easily find and use your Purchased Templates. Use the Get More Templatesbutton to find and purchase new Templates directly from LuminarAI.

Availability
LuminarAI Update 3 is a free update for current LuminarAI users. To update:
macOS: Open LuminarAI. In the Top Menu Bar, choose LuminarAI > Check for updates. If you purchased via the Mac App Store, open the App Store and go to the Updates tab.
Windows: Open LuminarAI. In the Top Menu Bar, choose LuminarAI > Help > Check for Updates.
If you are running LuminarAI as a plugin with Photoshop, Lightroom Classic or Photoshop Elements, it’s also recommended you rerun the plugin installer.
The LuminarAI user manual has also been expanded to make it easier than ever for users to search and find answers to questions they might have about LuminarAI.

Let's get you up and running again. Could you please send us event logs at support@skylum.com?
- Reproduce the issue.
- Press the Windows logo key + R.
- Type eventvwr in the dialog box that opens and hit Enter on your keyboard.
- In the window that opens click the triangle next to Windows Logs on the left. A directory tree should open.
- Click Application in the directory tree.
- In the main part of the window find the two topmost entries marked with Error named Application Error and .NET Runtime.
- Hold CTRL and click your left mouse button on each entry to select them both.
- Right-click on any of the two selected entries and click Save Selected Events.
- Name the file, save it, and attach it to your email at support@skylum.com.

Hi Alina Skylum , is there the possibility to download somewhere the Luminar_AI_1_3_0_Release.msi file? I cannot find the link. And is there the possibility to install the 1.3 version for a trial if I don't want to unistall the Luminar 4.3 ?

You don't need to uninstall Luminar 4 to try Luminar AI. -

This update has broken me. ALL tif/tiff files load as black. Support has offered no help other than asking for screenshots. Where can I pull down a previous version while I wait?

Please click Luminar AI > File > Catalog > New and check whether the images are loaded properly there.
If .TIFs aren't displayed there as well, please use the link sent to you in the previous ticket to upload the files themselves, as my colleagues requested initially.
Also, according to your log, I see that your Luminar AI is installed to the root folder of another drive (is it external?). You may also want to try reinstalling the app to the default location (C > Program Files).

Hallo in die Runde, ich bin Windows - Nutzer und habe seit Beginn der Nutzung nur Probleme mit Luminar 4 und dann Verbindung von AI. Ich habe jetzt sogar einen kompletten Umstieg gemacht. Ich hatte zum Anfang I5 9400 mit Einer Geforce 1030 und 32GB Ram, SSD 970EVO NVMeM.2 ......Es stockt und stockt und man muss echt mehrere Sekunden warten bis mal eine Veränderung eintritt. Jetzt bin ich auf einen Ryzen 7 umgestiegen, da mir das geraten wurde, da Intel mit Open GL nicht so wirklich kann. Es ist etwas besser geworden.....etwas.....so seit 2 Tagen stürzt es dauernd ab.....Synchronisieren geht gar nicht, Anpassungen speichern und beim nächsten Bild anwenden.....Programm hängt sich auf.....mittlerweile schließt es sich sogar nur beim wechseln auf das nächste Bild.....bin langsam soweit es mit Luminar bleiben zu lassen.....denn so kann man doch wirklich nicht arbeiten.......oder habt Ihr noch Ratschläge was ich machen könnte, damit es mal endlich stabil und flüssig läuft.....denn die Hardware wäre ja so gut wie neu und sollte ausreichend sein......

Ich hatte bereits per E-Mail den Support Kontaktiert. Hat leider nichts gebracht. Es wird immer schlimmer. Ich habe in einem hochgeladenen Ordner nur 100 Bilder von einer Größe ca. 25 MB RAW . Wenn ich die Bilder bearbeiten möchte, syncronisieren...geht gar nicht....es ist die Anzeige da, das er arbeitet, aber an die CPU ist bei 2%. Sonst ist diese immer zwischen 70 und 99% , also am Limit. die RAM ca. 35 bis 60% Auslastung. Auch umstellen auf die Graka und nicht Windows überlassen bringt auch keine Besserung. Jetzt habe ich einen anderen Weg gewählt, der auch nicht frei von Problemen ist. Habe ein Bild bearbeitet. this Einstellungen als Vorlage gespeichert, und dann am nächsten Bild angewendet. Dann habe ich ein paar Bilder weiter bearbeitet und dann sehe ich das eins oder bereits bearbeitet Bilder komplett anders aussehen.....

We already use GPU for some features, but not as extensively as we’d love to. In future iterations of Luminar, we hope to extend the use of high-level APIs for hardware acceleration, including the GPU one.
