LuminarAI Crashing Frequently with CoreCLR.dll DotNet error
AnsweredHi.
I can see CoreCLR.dll crashes have happened with various versions of Luminar for some time. I have a Win 10 64 bit computer with 16gb ram and all the updates. Luminar AI crashes a lot. Here's an example event log. I can see many others have had this problem.
Has anyone fixed it ?

Hi Andrew.
Please try reinstalling the graphics card drivers with GURU 3D DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
Here's the link to download it: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Please, run the GURU 3D DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) from safe mode, and remove your GPU drivers, then just reinstall them.
Here's a video tutorial for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP-2B14Nckw
Then, download and install drivers from the manufacturer's website:
- Intel (click this text to open link)
- AMD (click this text to open link)
- nVidia (click this text to open link)
After you have updated your graphics card drivers, make sure to set your discrete graphics card to run Luminar by default (usually this concerns laptops). Refer to your graphics card's manufacturer's website if you need help with that.
If your discrete card is Nvidia, you can find the instructions here.
If your discrete card is AMD, the video instruction is accessible here.
If the issue persists, please get in touch with our support team at https://skylum.com/support. They will be happy to help! I must also inform you that due to a high amount of requests, it may take some time for them to get back to you so I would like to kindly ask for your patience.

Good news, it's been stable for a couple of weeks now.
I used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove all drivers from all manufacturers as I previously had a built in ATI GPU. I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers and now Luminar AI seems to run reliably and hasn't crashed during editing or export.
To answer your question Austin, it was fairly random crashes, mostly during export when running as a plugin or when trying out different presets rapidly one after another, or switching skies. As if it was triggering a crash during heavy GPU usage.
Thanks
Andy
