sky replacement exclusion

is there a way to properly exclude an area from sky replacement? the opacity mask doesn't really work as it interferes with relighting really badly.

  That's bad advice Margaret Bright. The erase mask (or the normal brush for this purpose) basically preserves masked pixels from the original image. As a new sky gets applied, the image itself will be altered based on the replacement sky's color, lighting, etc. So when an area is erased this way, such alteration will not be applied to it and the result won't match the rest of the image that got the treatment. I think this is a bug (or perhaps a feature to be added) to truly exclude a misidentified area so that it doesn't get replaced with the new sky and it gets the same treatment as the rest of the non-sky part.

  You can just edit mask with a brush.

  If you are using Luminar 4, please choose AI Sky Replacement > Edit Mask > Brush: https://prnt.sc/whelv3

  For Luminar AI, press on the Brush button in Sky AI tool: https://prnt.sc/when00

  Choose the Erase mode for the brush to subtract the area.
