Hi Pim Grooff,
Kindly let me know the following:
1. Does it happen with all the images or just this particular one? Edited or unedited?
2. In what way is this photo edited? Please send me a screenshot from the History tab: https://manual.skylum.com/4/en/topic/history
You may need to ensure that the app has full disc access and access to files and folders (see the example: http://prntscr.com/q8t6w2). Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy. (if on MacOS)
Besides, please try the following:
1. Ensure that the size of the image does not exceed 15,000 pixels on one of the edges.
2. Try disabling your antivirus software.
3. Try changing the export directory to an alternative one. Make sure that you have all the read-and-write permissions for it: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/change-permissions-for-files-folders-or-disks-mchlp1203/mac (if on MacOS)
4. Please verify that you have an admin account: https://oit.ncsu.edu/it-security/antivirus/how-to-tell-if-you-are-an-administrator/
5. Reboot your computer.
If the issue persists, please let me know.Comment actions -
In lightroom I click edit in Luminar AI and ai starts. There is no export option in the tools bar. I can only Apply which over rights the current setting in LR.
Also there are no edit history steps saved. So if I want to make a small change, I have to start all over again.
Issues like so many other people with items not appearing in the menu.
Your AI website refers to layers and the are not available in AI.
My opinion having worked in IT for over 40 years. While it is a good beta product, it should have not been release as a final product. You guys have a lot to fix.

Hi Jim Rendant,
When you are launching Luminar AI as a plugin, you won't be able to export from there as you are working in Lightroom mainly and invoking the plugin in Lightroom, therefore, you will be able to export from Lightroom directly. Please use Luminar AI as a standalone if you'd like to export from there.
If you have applied the changes in the Luminar plugin and the image went back to Lightroom, yes, you won't be able to tweak the sliders anymore as you have agreed to the changes and applied them.
For your workflow, I would recommend you to use Luminar AI as a standalone as this way, you will be able to export images directly and see the history of changes applied.
As to the layers, we're purposefully removed them from Luminar AI and we always make sure to clarify that. We’ve added a new Local Adjustment tool that lets you solve the problems that many rely on layers for. With it, you can make specific adjustments for individual areas or people. You can overlay textures or make targeted adjustments. Local adjustments are also easier to sync with multiple photos and can be stored in a Luminar AI Template. The Local Adjustment tool eliminates the need for complex layers, bringing results and performance without clutter.
Could you please let me know where on our website it says about layers in the AI, so we could check that?
