Cashe
AnsweredHi All Happy new year .
I'm very new to this technology and was wondering about the cashe file in L4 and Ai not sure what they are for as they were full of copies or edits to my photos .
I would take a guess and say they will eventually take up a lot of space should i delete it all on a regular basis.
Many Thanks Malcolm

Malcolm,
You can modify cache size of Luminar4 on MacOS, but not on Windows. And yes it takes a lot of space. I am personally deleting them in my workflow after I finished with them just like I am erasing the catalogue. Luminar SW is not backwards compatible, so I dont really see the use case of saving them. Cache images are most likely used to shorten preview time, and in my case disk size is more important than a time I might save -
Malcolm,
Another workaround I can suggest is creating a folder in /tmp or Windows alternative temporal folder and create a lonk to it named as Luminar cache folder. This way at least part of the time OS will do the cleaning for you, when you can concentrate your time or more interesting things like editing images
