Unable to install plugin for Lightroom when installing Luminar ai

Recently downloaded Luminar AI and I want to use it with Lightroom since Luminar's interface is still not convenient for editing multiple photos. I am using the new Lightroom (not Lightroom classic). When I go to install the plugins when installing Luminar AI, it says Lightroom is not installed and that it must be installed first. Is this because I am not using Lightroom classic? 

Lightroom is turned off when I try to install these plugins. Help would be appreciated.

  Lightroom CC does not support external editors except Photoshop.

  Then that's easy.... new Lightroom doesn't support image plugins because Adobe won't let it.
