[Luminar AI] several found Bugs
AnsweredHey hey hey,
Thanks for the Early Bird Update. i had some spare time to jump into the new Software and sadly found some pretty anoying Bugs wich i´d like to share here:
1. Exporting: While having one active Photo open and exporting it, everything works fine. But as soon as you (for example an complete Album) try to Export in bulk while in the Catalogue without the distinct active Picture, the exported File has errors. For example i stamped / removed some objects in one Picture manually, added filter and such, but after the bulk export, the Picture is only saved with the filters, not with the removed objects, they are still there. So it seems that some Masks / Filters are missing in the exported file
2. Preview of Pictures: The same error from the exporting, shows itself in the "Preview Window" from the catalogue. Pictures i have changed seem to be missing some Filters / Masks in the Catalogue preview and only show them on the active Picture. While this is no big issue i think it works together with the exporting error and as such can be a bit frustrating and Time consuming if you manually have to check every photo instead of having a good preview.
3. Zooming Bug: i don´t know if i am the only one with this problem but i often lose sharpness in the Pictures. Not in the constant kind (as it would destroy the Picture) but after applying some Filters / Effects, i am directly loosing visual Picture Quality in the view and need to manually zoom in and out to get the original sharpness of the picture back. This happens almost everytime when i apply any kind of Change and often takes several seconds of waiting till this is restored.
I already had this Bug in Lum4 so this might be an error on my side or just the Speed of the Potato thats running LuminarAI here, but if not than thats a big Issue. :D
Anyway, thanks for your Work and stay Healthy!

Hi Paul Ross
I was able to reproduce this on my end and have already passed this to our developers. As a temporary solution, sharing what has worked for me:
1) Putting your mouse on the section and scrolling up and down;
2) Using the slider here: https://prnt.sc/vzp6jk
Let me know if any questions arise!

Thanks for the fast response Elena.
I am working on a MacBook Pro, with a non-apple Bluetooth mouse, and a Wacom Intuos tablet. Hovering my mouse over the templates doesn't allow my scroll wheel to move the templates unfortunately. Neither does the tablet allow dragging.
Oddly, the touchpad does allow me to do the two-finger left and right swipe, but swapping to my touchpad to move the menus is not a very ergonomically pleasing solution.
Also, I use an external monitor(Samsung U28E590 4k displayed), and think I have it calibrated properly, and when it is, the slider is invisible. I found it, but approximating the location in the image you attached, but the mouse indicator does not change so it is hit and miss to find. (I can't adjust the monitor enough to see the slider). However the slider on the bottom for my gallery is visible, as a light gray.
Any chance a contrast or background adjust could be added to the preferences? Or the mouse change to a hand when it goes over the slider/item you can select?

Hi Paul,
Sorry for the confusion - Elena's answer only applies to the Windows version of the program (the slider only appears in the Windows version of Luminar AI).
On macOS, you should be able to scroll the templates with your mouse wheel. If it's not possible, please reach us at skylum.com/support so we can look into the issue you're facing. -
Hello Laszlo. Would you be so kind as to send us a screenshot of the top left menu with the unselectable menus?
In order to return back to the gallery view please click on the six dots in the top menu.
Does the system freeze after some specific steps or it happens automatically?
