Lightroom/Ai Roundtrip problems.
AnsweredAs I understand it, the way to export from LR to Ai is by using 'File' 'Plugin Extras'. This is the only way an 'Apply' button will appear in Ai to get the image back to LR. When I do this 1. There's no dialog box for me to pick colorspace, PPI or file type. What am I sending to Ai? 2. When I do this an original image goes to Ai without the LR edits. How come? 3. All four corners of the original image that goes to Ai are blacked out, similar to a very heavy vignette. What's up?

Hi Russ Colban,
Please make sure to use the recommended way to access LuminarAI from Adobe Lightroom:
- Right-click on the image > Export > Export to LuminarAI > You have an option to Open Source Files or, if you've made any changes in Lightroom that you'd like to transfer over to LuminarAI , you can also choose Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments.
After applying adjustments in LuminarAI your photo should appear in Lightroom's Catalog > All Photographs.

Hi Robert McQuinn,
This way, you won't be exporting the picture, you will be simply using LuminarAI as a plugin.
This is the recommended way to invoke LuminarAI as a plugin. Same way it is with Luminar 4.

A couple more issues....1. When I select 'Apply' to send an image back to LR, or if I select 'Cancel' or 'Close', the program itself (Ai) also closes. That's annoying -- I have to keep waiting for it to open again each time I export from LR. 2. When I send an image to Ai from LR it sends a duplicate (with adjustments) of the LR image. Then I edit that image and send it back to LR. Then, if I right click again on the ORIGINAL LR image and send it to Ai, it will only send a copy of the image I already edited in Ai. This is regardless of which export option I choose.
Is this the correct place to be posting these issues, or should I be sending them somewhere else?

Hi Russ,
We need to be able to reproduce the issue on our end in order to understand at which point it occurs. Please send us a screen recording of what you do in the software before encountering the issue. Here's how to record a screen on Mac:
https://support.apple.com/guide/quicktime-player/record-your-screen-qtp97b08e666/mac
Here's how you can send us the file:
- Visit https://wetransfer.com/
- If it's your first time visiting this website, it might ask you to purchase a subscription. Simply select to proceed with the free version.
- Click Add your files.
- Select the file(s) on your computer.
- After you see all the files you need to send appear in the list, click the icon to the left of the Transfer button (the icon looks like a circle with three dots in it).
- In Send As select Link.
- Click Transfer.
- After the files have finished uploading, click Copy Link and paste it into the reply to this email.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
