Luminar 4 uses 12 GB RAM - Computer lagging
AnsweredHello,
Luminar 4 worked fine for me the whole time until I started editing a normal picture made with my camera which I already used before with Luminar.
Since I started editing this picture, everytime I start Luminar 4 and try to edit the picture, Luminar uses an incredible amount of RAM.
I have 16GB of RAM and Luminar uses up to 12GB!! while starting, so i get a RAM usage of 100 percent.
My Luminar starts lagging extremely and it is really hard to close Luminar because of the lags. Even If I wait like 10 minutes, it wouldn't load the picture.
After a time it the Task Manager says that Luminar only uses like 200 MB of RAM but the RAM usage is still at 100% and it can't be the fault of another program.
What can I do?

Hi Elija,
Could you please let us know the following:
- How many images are there in your Library? Please send us the screenshot of your Catalog file structure as in the example: http://prntscr.com/uis6gs
- Where are they located (on an internal or external drive)?
- Your hardware configuration:
- Press the Windows logo key + R.
- Type msinfo32 in the dialog box that opens and hit Enter on your keyboard.
- In the window that opens, make sure you have System Summary highlighted on the left.
- Click File > Export.
- Type the name of the file (you can choose any you like), save it somewhere where you can easily find it and attach this text file to email at https://skylum.com/support
N.B. The links are clickable and show the screenshots that can guide you, if necessary.
Here is the video tutorial on how to retrieve your system info: https://www.loom.com/share/97aff7951ee3412daa020f1d88eb36e8
