Problem to work with Luminar 4 as a plug-in for Photoshop
AnsweredHello,
Sorry for my english.
I have a Mac with Big Sur.
Il use the lastest version of Luminar 4 downloaded this evening. I'm working with Luminar as a plug-in for Photoshop 2021. Everything was fine under MacOS Catalina.
Under MacOS Big Sur I can Launch the Luminar 4 plug-in and work with the software. But when I save the photography for working with Photoshop it appears totally... BlaCk.
Remember : I have the last update of Luminar 4.
I've unstalled Luminar 4 and then made a clean installation. Nothing has changed.
Please, what can I do ?
Best regards.
Thierry

- In the top menu click Luminar 4 > Install Plugins.
- Click Uninstall next to Photoshop.
- Reboot your Mac and launch Luminar 4.
- Click Luminar 4 > Install Plugins.

Hi guys,
Our developers are currently investigating this issue to find the reason of such behavior and fix it as soon as possible.
However, there are some steps that helped some of our customers who have encountered the same issue as yours.
Could you please install the latest Adobe Camera Raw update (13.0) here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
Please download it, install it, and let us know if it helps.

Hi Thierry,
Are you working with 16-bit TIFs? Does it happen with 8-bit files too?
Could you please provide us with a sample file as well?
You can use the same link that was provided to you via email or WeTransfer.
Here's how you can send us the file via WeTransfer.
- Visit https://wetransfer.com/
- If it's your first time visiting this website, it might ask you to purchase a subscription. Simply select to proceed with the free version.
- Click Add your files.
- Select the file(s) on your computer.
- After you see all the files you need to send appear in the list, click the icon to the left of the Transfer button (the icon looks like a circle with three dots in it).
- In Send As select Link.
- Click Transfer.
- After the files have finished uploading, click Copy Link and paste it into your support request at https://skylum.com/support
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Thierry,
We've received your video, thank you. Could you kindly send us the original image file you're working with as well?
Please see the instructions above on how to send it to us. We appreciate your cooperation.

Hi Kate,
Please giver your mail adresse for the transfer with We Transfer. Without you mail adress I can do nothing.
One more thing : the plug-in for Photoshop is working with Tif 8 bits. But not with Tif 16 bits. Before Big Sur and the update of Luminar 4, the plug-in was perfectly working with tif 16 bits.
Best regards.

When uploading your files via WeTransfer, please, make sure you select Get transfer link. Thus it won't require you to indicate e-mail address and you will get a link to your files instead. Let me show you the screenshots:
Step 1 - Select "No, thanks": https://prnt.sc/vo7xh9
Step 2 - Press on button with 3 dots and choose Get transfer link: https://prnt.sc/vo7yd2
Step 3 - Include the link in your support inquiry which can be submitted on this page: https://skylum.com/support
Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you very much for the provided files. I made sure to forward them to the development team to investigate the issue further. Appreciate your kind input. We do hope to resolve the issue ASAP.
Just in case, have you also tried reinstalling Adobe Camera RAW as well?
-
Dear Helga,
The photography is in 16 bits and 300 dpi.
So, after having worked with the olug in Luninar 4, changing the sky for exemple, the result must be in 16 bits and 300 dpi.
Please say to your dévelopment team that the plug-in works in 8 bits.
Also say them that Luminar 4 works in stand alone with photographies in 16 bits 300 dpi, BUT exports thé final photography in 72 dpi. Not in 300.
Best regards.

I completely understand your frustration! But I can assure you that our tech team is working on fixing the issue and we plan that upon official release of LuminarAI on December, 15th, the issue with LuminarAI will no longer occur.
