If Luminar AI is not an upgrade will there be a Luminar 5? What Happens to our photo catalogs if not?
AnsweredFrom your website and FAQ they mention that the Skylum AI will not be able to import catalogs from Skylum 4 as it is a different application line and not an upgrade. Does that mean there will be a Skylum 5 in the future? I much prefer the manual method of editing photos in Luminar 4 than the use of the AI features so I would prefer to stay on the current line of the software if it will be continued.
If the current Skylum 4+ series will not be continued — will I ever be able to migrate my catalog into the “AI” version? If not this is a total disaster. How can I work with all of my historical edits if that is the case when Luminar 4 becomes incompatible with future MacOS versions? I switched to you from Lightroom because I thought I could trust my photos with you long term (including my full catalog of historical photos) — but I am now very worried that that was a mistake and it is time to look for something else that is more stable to manage and catalog my photos.
Please clear up your future intentions and plans to retain backwards compatibility with the photo catalogs within your future product offerings.

SKYLUM, a few questions for you. The answers are more important for your future, than for mine, because I have already made up my mind - you lost me as a customer forever.
1. How can you expect anybody will trust you anymore, that L AI will have any upgrade path after what you have done to L 4?
2. What upgrade future you offer to those who have catalogs in L 4?
3. Do you expect we will be so stupid to bite the bullet, pay more money, build everything anew in L AI only to have the prospect to face the same in 1, 2, 3 years?
4. Do you really have any vision and strategy?
Please answer them honestly for yourselves. Only that can save you from going out of business. I wish you all the best in your journey, but sadly without me.
