How to Return Luminar 4 Edit Back to Lightroom Catalogue
AnsweredI use Luminar 4 as a Lightroom application. In the prior version of Luminar 4.x, a Luminar edit had the option, when completed, to return the edited photo to Lightroom so it was in the Lightroom catalogue. That option or radio button no longer exists in the most recent Luminar version.
Is there a simple way to return an edited image back to the Lightroom catelogue?

Hi Lowell,
The recommended way to invoke Luminar 4 as a plugin is to right-click on an image > Export > Luminar 4 > Open Source Files/Edit Copy with Lightroom Adjustments.
See the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/s65yje
After you hit Apply, the photo should appear under Catalog>All Photographs in Lightroom. See the screenshot: http://prntscr.com/neybu8
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Lowell,
Please make sure you are using the Export option to take your images from Lightroom to Luminar, rather than Edit In. That should take care of the issue.

Hi Craig,
Please try reinstalling the plugin this way:
- Launch Luminar 4.
- In the top menu click Luminar 4 > Install Plugins.
- Click Uninstall next to LR
- Reboot your Mac and launch Luminar 4.
- Click Luminar 4 > Install Plugins.
- Click Install next to LR
You may be prompted to enter your Mac user password at some point, please do so.
If the issue remains unsolved, let's try to install the plugin manually:
- Make sure Lightroom is closed.
- Open Finder, click Go > Go to Folder and paste the following path: /Library/Application Support/MacPhun Software/Luminar4/Plug-Ins/. There will be a bunch of files in there, the ones you're interested in have the following extensions: .lrplugin and .lrtemplate.
- Open a new Finder tab or window and click Go > Go to Folder one more time and navigate to the following path: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/
- Copy the .lrplugin into the folder that you opened in Step 3.
- Click Go > Go to Folder one more time and navigate to the following path: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/External Editor Presets/
- Copy the .lrtemplate file into the folder that you opened in Step 5.
You may be asked whether you'd like to overwrite the existing file in the folder or keep both, choose to overwrite in all cases. - Access Luminar in the following way: right-click the image file > Export > Luminar 4 > Open Source Files/Edit Copy with Lightroom Adjustments.
