Work-around for no raw lens corrections in Luminar 4

For some reason this problem still hasn't been fixed where lens corrections for raw images are not automatically enabled. Even when enabling the 'auto distortion corrections' for my sony a7iii - 28-75mm Tamron, they do nothing. Or in some cases do something except they're clearly wrong as they don't look like the JPG's or raws that are processed by lightrooms lens correction for example. 

BUT FEAR NOT! i have discovered a janky yet useful work around. FOR FREE

1. First get your raw file onto your android or apple device, this generally means you have to plug the phone into the computer since Sony doesn't allow raws to be transferred wirelessly for some reason. 

2. For android i use an app called raw2dng. also while you're in the play store download the lightroom app if you haven't already 

3. This is important as it allows you to edit raws for free on the light room mobile app, use the raw2dng converter to convert the pictures to dng.

4. Import the photos to light room making note that the lens correction is applied in the optics tab. (crazy how a free mobile app can do this but i pay like 100 aud for a photo editing program that can't anyway...) 

5. then in the top right corner you'll see the this dot that connects to 2 dots (share) click that and hit export at the bottom. 

6. Change the file type to TIF and bit depth to 16, largest available dimensions (this allows you to have more information for editing in luminar) 

7. Export your picture, you can do multiple by going to the page before single image edit and hold down and highlight all the ones you want then repeat step 5

8. Plug your phone back into your computer and drag the files across. 

9. Open the TIFs up in Luminar and the lens correction has already been applied from lightroom, its finally over well done :)
