Libary or Catalog ... OPTIONAL!
AnsweredGreat, we're up to Luminar 4 from MacPhun (sorry, Skylum). The editing tools are fantastic. The Library/Catalog is a disaster and seems to rule our use of the tool as an editor. What I mean is even if I select Edit Single Image, once opened, the VERY FIRST thing it does is place it in a Library view, then switch to Edit.
Now I know, coming from MacPhun which made/makes excellent editors, the desire was to capture us Aperture users. I get it. But, your DAM solution is too aggressive and not nearly Aperture. So, why not do the following:
Provide the user with a choice!
- I want Luminar to be my DAM and editor, run as it is now.
- I want Luminar to be my editor, so I select that "mode" in preferences and viola! the program is once again Luminar 1/2 with the latest and greatest AI editor routines, etc.
Straight forward...CUSTOMER SATISFACTION for ALL.

Hi Matthew ,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let our tech team know that you'd like to have the option to turn off DAM completely.
For now, if you prefer a single image workflow, you can do the following:
Add the photo for a Single Image Edit > apply the necessary adjustments > export the photo (File > Export) > right-click the image and select Remove from Single image edits.
