Upgrade my PC : Advice ?
AnsweredHi, i'm planing to ugrade my PC. I've never been able to use Luminar 3 (or 4 as trial) as a replacement of lightroom.
It works (slowly but it works) as an external editor for lightroom, but it's not smooth on a i7-7700HQ 16Go Ram 512 SSD and GTX1050 for replacement.
I'm not changing my PC for Luminar, but have you got any advice on parts for a Desktop Build that can handle L4 (or is it hopeless)
My thoughs for the moment :
Ryzen 6 or intel 9600K
32Go RAM
970 evo 512Gb
Any advice ?

Hi Sebastien,
Based on our recommended specs here: https://manual.skylum.com/4/en/topic/technical-requirements you should have no problems with Luminar 4 on the specs you're considering. Hopefully some other users will weigh in here as well as to what is working well for them.

Dear Sebastien:
Here is my experience upgrading hardware to try to speed Luminar up: https://community.skylum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360007081400-How-I-sped-up-Luminar-V4-1-0-5191-on-Windows-10-64-bit
The short version is that 32GB of RAM helped a lot with both speed and stability on my laptop. Using the video card processor also improved screen refresh time. Faster internal SSD drives helped a little, but was much more expensive than adding RAM.
Good luck.
Jack
