Luminar 4 sends user data to Facebook?
AnsweredJust read an article that L4 sends user data to Facebook while the application is in use. The author claims to have a response from Skylum confirming this.
I never want Facebook or its other owned companies to get any data from my use of any product. How can I turn off this behavior on the part of L4? If it can't be turned off, can I get a refund?

Garry, I did post a comment about 2 hours ago, but for some reason it has been tagged as Pending Approval and hidden.
No idea why, but perhaps in time it may re-appear.

@Anna V, even if it's as you describe is it not common practice to at least inform users of this & give users the option to opt in or out? This is the first I have heard about it and was certainly never asked. Does Luminar 3 do this too?
Can you please tell us exactly what data is being collected?

This sound like a violation of the GDPR directive in Europe, that can be very expensive to break. Please clearify this matter.

Hello Anna -
Privacy aside, I do not support the ethics or business practices of Facbook (the company). I try my best to avoid giving them any money or data from which they make money. Had I known L4 was hard coded into Facebook I would have thought long and hard about purchasing this version.

Hi Everyone,
Kindly note that the information we obtain with the help of in-app analytics does not provide any means for personal identification, i.e. it’s not connected to a name, email address, or other personal information in any way.
Please take a moment to review our user agreement, in particular, the sections "When you use our products" and "Your Data that we collect": https://skylum.com/legal#when-you-use-our-products… https://skylum.com/legal#your-data-that-we-collect…
Please note that you can also use our apps in offline mode.
