How to extend the list of applications available in "Open In"
AnsweredI would like to be able to send images I'm working on in Aurora 2019 to On1 for further processing. Presently I've got the following options in the File > Open In menu: Luminar, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Photos (Aperture and Elements are grayed out since they aren't installed). I'd like to have On1 in that list!
I can use File > Export to produce a JPG or TIFF in a folder On1 is watching, but this may be less than ideal. Is there a way to add On1 (or any other photo editing applications for that matter) to the list of applications available in Open In?
I'm also looking for a better way to get files FROM On1 into Aurora *and back* - but that may be more a question for the On1 forum. I know I can choose the On1 "Send To" function and it will get photos *into* Aurora, but it doesn't seem to work quite as well as, for example, the LR plugin where in Aurora I get an "Apply" button after which the resulting TIFF is created in the correct folder with an appropriate name automatically. Is this a problem that can be solved in Aurora? Is there something I can do with Aurora so that when I use the On1 "Send To" function I get an "Apply" button inside Aurora that causes my work in Aurora to be sent back to On1 or something like that? Basically I'd like to get Aurora to work with On1 more like it does with LR.
Thanks.

Weird to find a post that has not been shut down after a non-answer and to which a user can add to.
Anyway, as you must be well aware, Skylum's programs do not have full export options typical in most image processing programs so I wrote an "Export Handler" (LINK) to provide the items I need.
It should work for you to move Aurora exports back to the ON1 (or any other) folder.
I was thinking of adding some options that could make it even more useful for use cases such as yours but as I don't particularly need these, I haven't gotten round to this.
