Does Luminar 4 provide drag and drop reordering within a folder?. Luminar 3 does not.
AnsweredI am a real estate photographer and as part of my post processing, I need to organize my photos WITHIN a folder. I move/reorder my exterior shots together, move all kitchen shots together, etc. Luminar 3 does not allow drag and drop reordering of images WITHIN a folder - only moving from one folder to a different folder. I posted this question to the Luminar Community. See the discussion here,
https://community.skylum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360034694232-Can-I-reorder-i-e-move-images-within-a-folder-or-album-
As part of that discussion, Richard Harrington of the Skylum Team wrote,
"Luminar does not allow for drag and drop ordering at this time. You could use labels or stars for filtering. Please file a feature request via the support home page."
Colin Grant responded,
You know Richard, this is when it all starts to get really silly. Drag and Drop has been a file organisational function in Windows and Mac for almost ever. It should be included by default as it is in all the other dams/libraries. Yet you call it a feature request rather than a development omission!
K.G. Wuensch responded,
I just looked at the database design (simply use any tool that can read and display SQLite databases and open your .luminar catalog file), it lacks an image order field which would allow Luminar to record any manual image ordering...
So my question is, does Luminar 4 now provide this capability/feature - to be able to do drag and drop ordering within a folder?
