Still waiting for tagging by keywords.
AnsweredI'm very disappointed that the use of keywords is not yet possible in Luminar. I purchased Luminar 4, expecting this to be possible, as it was on the roadmap for this year. I will not import any photos into the Luminar catalog until this function is available and will not purchase further releases without it.

Keyword tagging is Essential. Luminar definitely needs to get this feature added in as soon as possible. I see it as 100% necessary for my photo management. For me I'm just an amateur, and just use Old lightroom for personal photo organization. I'd prefer moving to Luminar, as the new lightroom is adobe cloud only (Major draw back), but losing keywords makes it a no go. So i'm stuck with old Lightroom.

I too had purchased the software as an alternative to Adobe Suite, fully expecting to be able to use it as a fling system for my photos using key words. Without that tool I might as well stay with using folders on an external drive and trying to remember where certain images are. I hope that feature will soon be added so that the time invested in learning the program is not wasted.

It's a suggestion I'd like to subscribe to as well. I guess to enhance the somewhat simplistic library search options, we'd need tags that we can define somewhere in the options and then hose have to become selectable to add as meta data per photo, so we can add any (well a dozen or two should be enough I guess) tags to images .. women, female, male, children, car, red, blue, house, building, city, bridge and so on.... that makes the library usable.
And one day ask Excire for their AI :P

Indeed. One of the reasons it would be great to add this feature is that review sites are saying that Luminar already has it. I would think that this could lead to purchases by people who will be more than a bit disappointed to find this is not true...

I'm as disappointed as you, but I got this answer in another thread.

That has made me give up about Luminar as a LR replacement. :(

Looks like it'll never happen.
From Skylar yesterday:
Thanks for reaching us about this.
Luminar AI doesn't have a tool allowing to add or import keywords. Right now, it's just not the path we're moving towards, I'm afraid, but I will be sure to share your vote for this feature with our devs team.
Let us know if any questions arise.
Kind regards,

A major disappointment - you don't need to scroll up very far in this thread to see assurances from both 'Margaret' and 'Elena' that devs were working hard to implement this feature -- a YEAR ago! But "Right now, it's just not the path we're moving towards." What a bunch of misleading BS!

Mike, this is not happening. Been asking about this for a looooong time. I've given up on this and this piece of software alltogether. I bought into this as an Adobe/Lightroom alternative. The company shifted course and they no longer wish to go after that, which is their prerogative I guess.
To be fair, they were VERY cool about it and even offered to anyone that thought they were misled a full refund, which I did not take because I like the company, I understand small developers, and anyway I was using the software for editing (still have it installed but I do not use it anymore).
Back to Lightroom now (but with an M1 you could also do Darkroom on desktop and keep off the Adobe train).
Live and let live . . .
