patch tool to soften existing sky to sky replacement
Answeredhello,
textures or contrasty clouds go through the sky replacement.
In photoshop, we just need to use patch tool and copy a adjacent soft part of sky on the textured part.
very easy. eraser doesn't do that task in a good way.
Can you develop a patch tool ?
already mentioned but blur filters are really missing in Luminar 4 which requires to use competitor softwares to make these basic retouching. a nonsense.
the defocusing slider in sky replacement panel helps but is not as nice as a motion blur in photoshop. I speak here in general for blur tools, not only for sky.

Thank you Angela,
As mentioned before, I have the feeling you are using blend mode, not a true selection+replacement, which explians why original texture, trees,... of sky go through the new sky.
In the meantime can you please make a youtube tuto explaining how to clean a little bit
the original sky to prepare it for sky replacement ?
I suppose it is advised to make a separate adjustment layer for the sky (currently i do it in same layer than other filters) and use erase tool ?
best regards

hello,
I have found an interesting tuto from Morganti where he shows the problem of horizon in custom skies.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWYJENzAuic
I had same problem. in photoshop we don't use a mask to remove blotches because it removes the tone of the texture/sky but use a gaussian blur on texture.
Blur tools in luminar are really missing ! But here it should be inside the edit mask tools section ( akind of blur brush ?) because not sure Luinar would allow to apply a gaussina blur to a "sky" filter.
