Luminar 4 - first impressions (MAC)

As early bird I got the download  link on 11th in the evening (CET), Installation without any problem.

My first impression after a couple of days: on my Macbook pro (2015), Catalina,  it is running very fine.

Much faster than L3, import of a new folder with ca. 5.000 photos a matter of seconds;  the old L3 catalogues (after migrating with migration tool) running very smooth and fast; import of additional photos into the old L3 catalogue no problem;

the new tools (Sky replacement etc.) are working well; although I am missing some of the L3 filters.

Summary: for the moment I am happy with L4, would be great if Skylum could provide a working DAM (like e.g. ON1) in near future, so I have to run two apps.

  belonging to the "Sky replacement":

  aren’t you afraid that Luminar-users will be recognized by the skies in their images, sooner or later?

  I don't think so, regarding myself, I am using my own skies, that I already used for sky replacement with Affinity Photo.

  I think the tool "Replace sky" is great. I have always done it with ON1 Photo RAW 2020, it works much better in Luminar4, only if I want to change something it takes a long time until it reacts. How can I place a sky from my own folder as I want it to be, this is much easier with ON1 because extra layer and there I can move the section as I want.

  Hi Joachim,

  in the AI Sky Replacement  at the very bottom of the selection menu you can load user skies (see attachment, in German).
