Is there a roadmap for Luminar 4
AnsweredI apologize if this post is just beating a dead horse. I am wondering if there is a roadmap for Luminar 4?
I'm finding the new features in Luminar 4 amazing and very useful. However, if the push is to streamline the photographers workflow, then I have to say there are some basic features that are missing and are sorely needed.
1) Virtual copies. I use these extensively in managing my print enabled versions - i.e. I bump the exposure about a third of a stop so the printed version matches the display version. Please implement this ASAP.
2) Select multiple images and load them as Layers with auto alignment. This is vital for real estate photographers.
3) Hierarchal keywording - absolutely necessary for those with massive libraries.
4) Select multiple images and stitch them together in a panorama using AI to fill out the edges. Ok, this is not a basic feature, but it is one that will make many photographers very happy.
5) Exif editing capabilities.
These are just a few of the basic editing capabilities that have been requested over and over again. If the idea or plan is to streamline the editing process/workflow, then the implementation of these basic features will make for a very happy user base. Might I suggest the implementation of these before any additional new features are created?
Workflow is key, and Luminar 4 is very close to providing the workflow options that many photographers want and need. So, can these basics be added to the roadmap and maybe provided first? Please!

Hi Bruce,
Our current roadmap is for Luminar 3 and Luminar 4. You can find it here: https://skylum.com/luminar/roadmap
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

@Angela Thanks for the link to the roadmap, but there is no mention of the items I listed out in the start of this thread. This is a real problem for many photographers. If you want to make your user base happy, all you need to do is include some of the basic functions that I listed. For example: virtual copies. I would think your developers could do this one in just a couple of days and it would be time well spent. Just saying...

Hi Bruce,
Virtual copies are on our feature request list, but I don't have an ETA on implementation yet. I'll be sure to reiterate to our developers that this is a particularly necessary feature.
As for EXIF editing, that will be coming in 2020 to both Luminar 3 and Luminar 4.
I'll be sure that the other items you suggested are also added to our feature request list. We truly appreciate your feedback!

I do have one other question as well. The page mentions, as part of the L3 roadmap a number of feature (IPTC editing etc.). Are they also planned for L4? That is unclear on that page.
I was curious, because I have uninstalled L3 with the assumption that L4 has feature parity (within reason) and will continue to do so.
