I really like Luminar 2018. But I was hoping that it would eventually be a Lightroom replacement when the DAM is released. But after processing a raw image with only very minor adjustments, the resulting file is way bigger than the original file. Lightroom saves develop settings in a sidecar file taking almost no space. So for me, Luminar just doesn't work. I bought it (pre-release) and have been very pleased, but the inability to save edits in a sidecar file makes it unusable, since most of my images are edited strictly in the raw editor. I understand that if I need to do anything with layers, text, or added effects, I would expect a larger file size (same as if I sent an image from LR to another editing app). But for basic raw developing, Lightroom is much better for me. OnOne Raw 2018 also supports non-destructive editing so I'll be checking that out and I'll use Luminar for some images. Too bad because I really like the power and simplicity of Luminar!
